full of turkey t-shirt

This super-cute T-shirt is the perfect handmade gift for every little turkey at your Thanksgiving table! Even better, it’s super-easy to make with your Cricut® machine. You’ll find the downloadable design file and all the steps you need below, so let’s DIY!
Step 1
We have the design file for this project available for you, click here. First, download it and save it to your computer; then upload the file into Cricut® Design Space™.
Step 2

In Design Space™, re-size the design so it fits on your T-shirt. Next, click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen. In the following screen, check the ‘Mirror’ option (below the preview mat in the left panel) to reverse your image; then click ‘Continue’ in the bottom right corner.

TIP: You’ll always want to select the ‘Mirror’ option for any iron-on projects that include words. Reversing the image before you cut it out ensures that the words on your design will read correctly once you iron them onto fabric.

Step 3
Select your material. For this project, you’ll want to choose ‘SportFlex Iron-On’.
Step 4
Place the iron-on material, shiny-side down, onto your cutting mat. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting.
Step 5
Once your machine is done cutting, unload your mat; then carefully remove your material and use scissors to cut away the vinyl around your design. Next, use the weeder tool to remove all the excess material around and inside your letters and image. You’ll be left with just the reversed design on the clear plastic carrier sheet, which is slightly sticky.
Step 6
Flip your carrier sheet so it’s sticky-side down. You should now be able to read your text through the carrier sheet just as it will appear once ironed. Make sure the text is centered, straight and exactly where you want it; then place it onto your shirt.
Step 7
Ready to iron on the design? Before you do, cover it with an ironing cloth (or a bandana). Then, follow the instructions included with your iron-on material’s packaging to press the design onto the shirt with your iron.
Step 8

Almost done! Carefully peel back one corner of the carrier sheet to see whether the iron-on material has bonded to the fabric of your shirt. Once you’re sure it’s bonded, slowly peel away the entire sheet of clear plastic.

TIP: Is your design peeling up along with the carrier sheet? No worries! Just iron it again to make sure the bond’s secure.
