You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.
Step 1 |
To create the planet topper, use a paintbrush to apply the Neon Purple paint evenly over both Styrofoam® pieces. This may require two or three coats. Let dry in between coats. Using the various sponges and Spouncers™ apply several light coats of the purple, pink, black and Silver paint to both Styrofoam® pieces. Once all the color has been applied, use a sponge to apply a thin coat of the Sugar Cube paint all over both Styrofoam® pieces. Using a hot glue gun, glue the two Styrofoam® halves together. To create the ring around the planet, cut a piece of the flat wire 10" to 12" long. Insert both ends of the wire into the back of the planet ball. Shape a circle out of the wire that goes all the way around the planet ball. |
Step 2 |
Using a hot glue gun, glue around the holes where the flat wire is inserted in the back of the planet ball. Paint one dowel rod black. Once it is dry, insert it into the back of the planet ball. To attach the planet topper to the tree, wrap the 16 gauge wire around the top tree branch and the black dowel rod. Project Note: This project is featured on the Galaxy Upcycled Christmas Tree.
