hello valentine t-shirt
Step 1 |
This design is designed and ready for you to cut from your Cricut®. To access, click here for this design. TIP: Want to change this design to make it perfect for you? Just click ‘Customize’ at the bottom of the project pop-up screen, then use the tools in your edit panel to make any changes. |
Step 2 |
Click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen; then, click 'Mirror' under each mat in the left panel of the 'Preview' screen. TIP: You will always want to cut iron-on projects that contain words in a mirror image, so the design is legible when it is ironed on your shirt. |
Step 3 |
Click 'Continue' in the bottom right corner of your screen and choose your material. Depending on which mat you are cutting first, chose either 'Glitter Iron-On' or 'Iron-On'. TIP: Always make sure to select the most accurate material available for your Cricut® projects so your machine knows how deep to cut into your material. |
Step 4 |
Place the iron-on material, shiny-side down, onto your cutting mat. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting. |
Step 5 |
Once your machine is done, use scissors to cut around each design. Next, use your weeder tool to remove all the excess material around and inside your letters and shapes. You’ll be left with just the reversed design on each clear plastic carrier sheet, which is slightly sticky. |
Step 6 |
Flip your carrier sheet so it is sticky-side down. Make sure the text is centered and straight, then press the design onto your shirt. Now, the carrier sheet is on top and you can read your text as it will appear on your shirt. |
Step 7 |
Ready to iron on the design? Before you do, cover your design with an ironing cloth (or a bandana). Then, follow the instructions included with your iron-on material’s packaging to press the design onto the shirt with an iron. First, iron on the plain white and then iron the glitter white above it but allow some of the glitter word to slightly overlap over the top of 'VALENTINE'. |
Step 8 |
Almost done! Carefully peel back one corner of the carrier sheet to see whether the iron-on material has bonded to the fabric of your shirt. Once you’re sure it’s bonded, slowly peel away the entire sheet of clear plastic. TIP: Is your design peeling up along with the carrier sheet? No worries! Just replace the iron for another few seconds. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
