kids club® chenille stem pet spider
Craft yourself a spooky pet spider for Halloween.
Step 1 |
Total Time (Including Dry Time): 1 Hour Bend four black chenille stems in half to find the center and straighten them back out. Lay them out in front of you, and position them into spokes (like the spokes of a wheel) overlapping the centers. Twist the centers together to secure, then position each spoke (spider leg) so you have eight evenly spaced legs. |
Step 2 |
Slightly curve each leg by running your thumb along the chenille stem. About ¼" from the bottom of the chenille stem, make a 90° bend to create a "foot" so that the spider can stand. |
Step 3 |
Glue a large black pom pom onto the center of the legs. Let dry. |
Step 4 |
Glue on wiggle eyes to the front of the pom pom. Let dry. |
Step 5 |
Cut a length of yarn about 24" long and tie it under the spider's body. Trim one end flush. The long length is the spider's leash. |
