kids club® potted craft stick cactus
Craft a cactus cutie that's perfect for spring.
Step 1 |
Paint the surface of the clay pot. Apply two coats, letting the pot dry in between. |
Step 2 |
Paint a ring of another color at the bottom of the pot. Or embellish as desired. Set clay pot aside. |
Step 3 |
Paint one large popsicle stick and four small ones green. Paint front and back. Let dry. |
Step 4 |
Glue the sticks together, using image as guide. Set aside and let glue dry. |
Step 5 |
Mix green paint with white paint to make a pale green color. Use a small paintbrush to add skinny brush strokes vertically down the sticks to create cactus needles. |
Step 6 |
Glue wiggle eyes to the large stick to create a face. Let dry. |
Step 7 |
Draw a smile with a black marker. |
Step 8 |
Crumple up one piece of construction paper and wrap around the bottom of the large popsicle stick. |
Step 9 |
Place the paper and stick down into the pot. Adjust so that the cactus is standing straight. |
Step 10 |
Add the "rocks" by sprinkling a few pom poms in various colors into the pot on top of the paper. |
