kids club® spring mini beaver habitat triorama

Step 1
On a piece of white cardstock, measure and mark 8½" on the long side. Cut out the 8½" x 8½" square.
Step 2
To make a triorama, fold the cardstock, pulling opposite corners together (top left and bottom right). Fold and crease. You will have a triangle. Now, fold the triangle in half, pulling the 2 ends together, crease and open back up flat. You will have a creased "X" on your cardstock.
Step 3
Cut up one of the creases and stop at the middle of the sheet. Lay the sheet flat on the table.
Step 4
Choose an animal from the Safari Toobs® North American animals, or another animal of choice. Create a habitat for your animal on the flat triorama. Use the drawing chalk and construction paper to create the elements that will make up the habitat.

TIP: Overlap the two cut triangle flaps to get an idea of what the habitat will look like assembled. One flap will be tucked under the other and not seen, so it does not need to be decorated. Do not glue yet as it is easier to draw and color prior to assembling the triorama.
Step 5
You may need to use Elmer's® School Glue to get some of your elements to stick together where the chalk has been used.
Step 6
Once the habitat is decorated, slide the blank triangle flap under the other flap and glue together using the glue stick.
Step 7
Arrange your animal in its habitat.
