You can blend and mix your colors to make all kinds of awesome effects. When you’re finished, just ask a grown-up to help tie your card together and you’re ready to go!
Step 1
Measure four 5" x 5" squares on your cardstock and cut them out with scissors. Use a pencil to draw hearts or other designs on each square, then color them in with the Hyperstix™ crayons. These crayons are especially cool because they blend together so easily. Use the fusion blender that’s included in the kit to do this.
Step 2
With a glue stick, glue the four drawings onto a piece of 11" x 14" foam board. Take a look at our photo on this page to see how to place them.
Step 3
At the bottom of the card, beneath the squares, write something sweet and color it in using the same crayons. We wrote the word "Love" but you can write any Valentine's Day word-y thing you would like.

TIP: Be careful as you handle the card and try not to touch the colored areas – they can smudge easily.
Step 4
ADULT: Your job is to tie the card front to the card back. To do this, you will need to poke two holes along the left side of the card – a pencil will do the trick. Once you’ve poked two holes into the front of the card, lay it on top of the second 11" x 14" piece of foam board (the card back) and use the pencil to mark through the holes onto this second piece. Now you know where to poke the holes into the back card, so do that.
Step 5
Lay the card front so that it’s facing up, on top of the card back. Thread a piece of ribbon through the top set of holes. Tie a knot first, then a pretty bow. Trim the ends, if you like. Repeat this step for the bottom set of holes. Don’t forget to write a Valentine’s Day message on the inside and then you’re ready to give your card!
