Made with archival-quality, 100% cotton, this canvas is gesso primed so that you can start painting immediately. The medium/smooth texture surface is perfect for use with acrylic and oil paints, and the frame is professionally constructed. The medium-weight cotton duck is stretched around 3/4" profile kiln-dried stretcher bars and held in place with a flexible spline, so artists can paint on all four edges.

Perfect!
I absolutely love these canvases! Especially the 12 pack, where I can get the most value for the money. They are taught, smooth, and don't show any of the staples on the back. While you can use them right out of the packaging, I still apply a thin layer of gesso just to give the canvas surface a little more body and sheen before painting.

Would not recommend
Cheap canvas on pine. Useful for student work or to carry around to look like you're an artist. Might protect you from rain. Wouldn't be great in a snowstorm. Do not use to fend off robbers.
Expensive for what you get. Even the "level 3" canvas isn't pro quality. Go elsewhere to get canvases and avoid pine stretcher bars which are acidic and will warp and/or crack.

Love gallery 2!!
I love the gallery wrapped level 2 canvases. There is a big difference in the quality between level 1 and 2. The canvas is tighter and smoother. I like the way it is stapled and seems very "solid and strong". That's all I but now unless I need a30 x 40 which I frequently do paint in and that's a level 3. I am extremely satisfied with both. That's all I use now!!

Great general quality canvas
Great fit and finish. Perfect for just short of museum grade. This is the perfect canvas for people who want a gallery wrapped canvas at a standard size. The Cotton Duck is a little thin to be professional grade, but the wrap and the surface is excellent. High quality, reasonable price.
