I just got back into painting....and all the paints I used for the painting were Liquitex Basics Acrylics...I'm amazed by the results...I think it is great paint at a great price...See photos below...One painting became 5 paintings based on the lighting...Peace...and thanks....10/15/23

I've never used acrylics, but tired of the mess and toxicity of oil, pastel, etc. I actually think I'm liking this product almost as well as oil and I bought high end oils when using oil.  Need to invest in a sponge box though because I'm wasting paint as I get used to the joy of fast dry work, glazing, rework.

The transparency on transparent colors is more than other brands. The pigmentation is close'ish to real mineral paint but only just in the ballpark. They dry too plastic looking. You get a lot for the money but there's a reason for that.  If you have money and are new to painting with acrylics, don't start with these, they're too frustrating.

The paints are of decent quality for the price, but Michaels' shipping methods are a gamble.

Overall lay down thick, can be watered down with even consistency, large range of colors (all you need is white, (black), and warm & cool primaries- fluorescents if you're in need of bright colors)
The one drawback is that they're sometimes a bit liquidy & need to be shaken up/wait 10 minutes to become opaque. Make no mistake, they're usually perfectly opaque, this is just a sometimes issue.
