loops & threads® facets capri blue crochet triangle scarf

Step 1
FINISHED SIZE: The finished shawl is 52” across the shoulders and 40” along each side. The shawl’s depth (from center back at the neck to its bottom point) is 31”.

GAUGE: x hdc = 4”

Project Note: The number of Skeins needed to complete this project is 1-Loops & Threads® Facets Yarn – Capri Blue (sku 10486751)

Pattern Note: This project requires a 10 mm hook to achieve the proper gauge. This may be an N or P hook. Refer to the metric measurement (10 mm) rather than the letter size.

Using a 10 mm crochet hook, ch 4 and turn.

Row 1: Sk the first two ch and hdc in the third ch from the hook. Hdc twice in the final ch. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 2 and hdc in the first st. (Do not sk the first st as you normally would when working in rows. The ch 2 will serve as the first hdc in the first st. Adding one hdc gives you the equivalent of 2 hdc in that first st.) Hdc once in each st across to the final st in the row. This final st will be the top of the ch 2 from the beginning of the previous row. Hdc twice into this st. Turn.
Step 2
Rows 3-46: Rep Row 2.

Row 47: Ch 1 and sc across each st to the end of the row.  Knot off your yarn, trim the excess and weave in your ends.

FRINGE: Choose a book, notebook or cardboard sheet that is about 12” long as your template. Wrap yarn 141 times around this item and cut it free from the skein. Cut once across one end of the template to make 141 separate pieces of yarn, each approximately 24” long. Gather three pieces of yarn at a time and attach them to the sides of the shawl, using a lark’s head knot. Begin with the fringe at the bottom point, then work up each side, knotting each set of fringe about 2-3 rows apart until you reach the top corner. Once all fringe has been knotted on, trim if necessary to even the ends.
