This pretty, coffee-colored kimono is just the thing you’ve been looking for! The openwork pattern keeps it from being too warm or bulky, so it’s perfect for a quick trip to the coffee shop, or snuggling in front of your screen on a crisp evening.
Step 1
Project Note: The number of Skeins needed to complete this project is 5 (5-6-7-7) Balls - Loops & Threads® Joy DK™ Solid Yarn – Latte 

SIZES: X-Small (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large).

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust = 40" (44", 48", 52", 56").

GAUGE: 3 repeats = 4-1/8" wide, 10 rows = 4" tall; save time and check your gauge.

SPECIAL STITCHES:

Crochet Lace (multiple of 6 sts + 1):
   -  Row 1 (RS): Ch 1, sc in 1st hdc, *ch 2, 3 dc in ch-3 sp, ch 2, **sc in ch-1 sp; rep from * across ending last rep at **, sc in turning ch, turn.
   -  Row 2: Ch 5 (counts as tr, ch 1), *hdc in next dc, ch 1, sk 1 dc, hdc in next dc, ** ch 3; rep from * across ending last rep at **, ch 1, tr in last sc, turn.
   -  Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in ch-1 sp, *ch 2, sc in ch-1 sp, ch 2, ** 3 dc in ch-3 sp; rep from * across ending last rep at **, dc in 5th and 4th chs of beg ch-5, turn.
   -  Row 4: Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc in next dc, *ch 3, hdc in next dc, **ch 1, sk 1 dc, hdc in next dc; rep from * across, ending last rep at **, hdc in top of turning ch, turn.
   -  Rep Rows 1-4 for pattern.

FPdc: Yo, insert hook from front to back to front around the post of the st and draw yarn through, twice.
 
BPdc: Yo, insert hook from back to front to back around the post of the st and draw yarn through, twice. 
 
Project Note: Kimono is crocheted side to side, starting at the center back and working to the cuffs of the sleeves. 
Step 2
INSTRUCTIONS:
 
Right Half
 
Back
Ch 110 (110, 110, 122, 122).
 
Foundation Row (WS): Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, *ch 3, sk 3 ch, hdc in next ch, **ch 1, sk 1 ch, hdc in next ch; rep from * across, ending last rep at **, hdc in last ch, turn.
 
Work Rows 1-4 of Crochet Lace pattern once, then Rows 1-3 once more. Do not fasten off.
 
Increase for Right Front: Ch 121 (121, 121, 133, 133), hdc in 3rd ch from hook, *ch 3, sk 3 ch, hdc in next ch, *ch 1, sk 1 ch, hdc in next ch; rep from * 18 (18, 18, 20, 20) more times, ch 3, sk 3 ch, hdc in next ch, **ch 1, sk 1 dc, hdc in next dc, ch 3, hdc in next dc; rep from ** across, hdc in turning ch, turn – 38 (38, 38, 42, 42) ch-3 sps.
 
Work in Crochet Lace pattern, starting with Row 1, until piece measures 10 (11, 12, 13, 14)", ending with Row 4 of pattern. Fasten off.  
 

Sleeve
 
With RS facing, skip 11 (11, 11, 12, 12) ch-1 sps, join yarn in next ch-1 sp.
 
Row 1 (RS): Ch 1, sc in same ch-1 sp as join, *ch 2, 3 dc in ch-3 sp, ch 2, sc in ch-1 sp; rep from * 13 (13, 13, 15, 15) more times, turn.
 
Starting with Row 2, work in Crochet Lace pattern until sleeve measures 10 (10, 11, 11, 12)”,
ending with Row 4 of pattern. Do not fasten off. 
 
Cuff

Row 1 (RS): Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), dc in hdc, *dc in next hdc, 2 dc in ch-3 sp, dc in next hdc, **dc in ch-1 sp; rep from * across, ending last rep at **, dc in turning ch, turn – 71 (71, 71, 81, 81) dc.
 
Row 2 (WS): Ch 2, FPdc around 1st dc, *BPdc around next dc, FPdc around next dc; rep from * across, turn.
 
Row 3 (RS): Ch 2, BPdc around 1st dc, *FPdc around next dc, BPdc around next dc; rep from * across, turn.
 
Rep Rows 2-3 until Cuff measures 2”.
 
Fasten off. 
Step 3
Left Side

Back
 
With RS facing, join yarn along beginning ch edge of Right Side. Work into base of Foundation Row.
 
Row 1 (RS): Ch 1, sc in base of turning ch, *ch 2, 3 dc in ch-3 sp, ch 2, ** sc in ch-1 sp; rep from * across, ending last rep at **, sc in base of last hdc, turn.
 
Work Rows 2-4 of Crochet Lace pattern once, then Rows 1-4 once more. Do not fasten off.
 
Increase for Left Front: Ch 121 (121, 121, 133, 133), sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 2, sk 1 ch, dc in next 3 ch, ch 2, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * 18 (18, 18, 20, 20) more times, ch 2, sk 1 ch, dc in next 3 ch, ch 2, sc in 1st hdc, **ch 2, 3 dc in ch-3 sp, ch 2, sc in ch-1 sp; rep from * across, working last sc in turning ch, turn - 38 (38, 38, 42, 42) groups of 3 dc.
 
Starting with Row 2 of Crochet Lace, complete Left Side as for Right Side.
 
Sew side seams and sleeve seams.
 

Bottom Edging
 
Row 1 (RS): With RS facing, join yarn to work across bottom edge, ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), work 8 dc for every 4 rows across the bottom edge, work 1 dc more to ensure an odd number, turn.
 
Row 2 (WS): Ch 2, FPdc around 1st dc, *BPdc around next dc, FPdc around next dc; rep from * across, turn.
 
Row 3 (RS): Ch 2, BPdc around 1st dc, *FPdc around next dc, BPdc around next dc; rep from * across, turn.
 
Rep Rows 2-3 until Edging measures 2", ending with Row 2.
 
Do not fasten off, turn to work along front edge with RS facing.
 

Front Edging
 
Row 1 (RS): With RS facing, ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), dc evenly around front opening, working 8 dc along bottom edging, 5 dc for every 6 ch along ch edges, and 27 dc across back neck, turn.
 
Work as for Bottom Edging.
 
Fasten off.
 
Finishing: Weave in ends. Lightly block to measurements.
