margarita pitcher

This cheerful pitcher is destined to make a splash at your next big event! Read below and we’ll show you how easy it is to use the Cricut® to add a colorful touch to your party-ware. You may find yourself decorating every surface in your home! Cheers!
Step 1
We’ve got your design all ready for you! Just click below to download the svg files, then upload them into Cricut® Design Space™.

   -  Cup
   -  Lime
   -  Straw
Step 2
Working in Design Space™, arrange all of the design elements just the way you’d like to see them on your pitcher. Capture all of the designs and size them together so they’ll fit on your pitcher in their correct proportions.

TIP: If you are using the pitcher we’ve listed on this page, then you’ll want to size your design to 4" x 5".
Step 3
Change the color of each design element so that the Cricut® will prompt you to change out each color of vinyl as it cuts. Here’s how to do this: While in Design Space™, click on the straw, then look to the right side of your screen. You’ll see a color dot next to the design’s thumbnail. Click on the color dot and you’ll be able to choose another color. Repeat this for the margarita glass and lime as well.

TIP: Remember that choosing colors within Design Space™ won’t change the color of your vinyl as it’s cut. However, it’ll give you an idea of what your design will look like before you begin the cutting process. More importantly, it’ll ensure that you cut only that portion of the design from each vinyl sheet. This will help you to conserve your vinyl – handy, right?
Step 4
Cut out the design from three bright colors of vinyl. You can use the ones we’ve recommended, or pick your own.
Step 5
Use the weeder tool to remove and discard the excess vinyl.
Step 6
Cut a piece of transfer tape that will cover the entire design. We’d suggest making it about 4¼"x5¼".
Step 7
Peel the backing from the transfer tape and place it over vinyl cut-out of the margarita glass. (If you’re following our color scheme, this will be the lime-colored piece.) Be sure to leave enough room at the top and right sides for the additional vinyl pieces. Burnish the design with your fingers, then lift the design away from its backer paper, using the transfer tape.

TIP: It can help to make the transfer paper a little less tacky before sticking it to your vinyl. To do this, first place it on a piece of fabric, such as your T-shirt or jeans, then peel it off again.
Step 8
Repeat Step 7 to add the straw and lemon vinyl pieces to your sheet of transfer tape. You should now have all three design elements, as you want it to appear on your pitcher, on the one piece of transfer tape.
Step 9
Place the transfer tape onto your plastic pitcher. Burnish the design, especially along the edges, and carefully peel away the transfer tape. If you see any bubbles, don’t worry – you can smooth those out with your fingers.
