I joined the two together and it fits perfectly in the space where I needed it. I specifically wanted something to store my 12x12 craft pads and there is still space along the side of the cube to store other items as well.

Make sure you pay good attention to the instructions before assembly. I recommend laying all pieces out according to instructions BEFORE any assembly. Simply Tidy Modular Storage pieces are great quality and are better than any other brand modular storage products.
