natural clay insect impressions

Your space will really leave an impression with details like this diy fossil set.
Step 1
Pull off a couple of handfuls of natural clay and begin working it in your hands until it is soft enough to manipulate and roll out.

Use an acrylic roller to flatten out the clay until it is ½" thick and wide enough around to use cookie cutters.
Step 2
Cut out two (or more) circles from the clay and place the excess clay back in the bag and close.

Choose bugs from the Safari Toob® to use for impressions.

Press the flattest side or most textured side of the bug down into the clay. Press firmly and then remove the bug.
Step 3
Repeat this step for as many bugs as needed per circle.

Follow package for dry time and other instructions.

Once dry lay the discs on cardboard and spray paint the top and edges of the clay in a well-ventilated area. Let dry.
