Measure and cut a 9½" x 5½" [24.1 cm x 14 cm] rectangle from one end of your orange foam piece.

ADULT: Use a hand punch to punch holes along the bottom of the foam and up the two sides. Evenly space the holes about 1" [2.5 cm] apart.
TIP: You will want the holes on either end to match up when you roll the foam into a tube.

Now, trace the circle pattern onto the rest of the foam orange piece and cut out the shape.

ADULT: Repeat Step 3 around the circle piece, which is the bottom of your water bottle holder.

Cut a 5" [12.7 cm] length of yarn for each hole you punched on the sides. Thread the yarn through each pair of holes and tie a knot. Repeat until the foam tube is secure.
TIP: Use the image as a guide.

Next, sew the circle bottom to the tube with a whipstitch. Leave a little tail at the beginning and end of your whipstitch and tie a knot to secure.
TIP: A whipstitch is where you "whip" the yarn around the edge to connect the two pieces. To do this, align a hole from the tube with a hole from the circle. Thread yarn through both holes and tie a knot. Now, draw the yarn up and around the outside of the circle edge to the next hole in the tube. Thread through the hole from the outside-in and down through the hole in the circle from top to bottom. Continue this whipstitch around and tie a knot once you have your circle attached to the tube.

Thread pony beads to the yarn tails that are hanging down the side and from the bottom. Tie a knot at the end of the yarn to secure.

ADULT: Punch a hole on opposite sides of the tube near the top edge.

Measure about 4' [121.9 cm] of yarn, fold it over and measure to double yarn length and cut from skein. Thread a few pony beads onto the yarn, insert the yarn ends through the hole on each side and tie a knot to make the shoulder strap.
TIP: Insert a water bottle into the foam tube, as shown, to use your water bottle holder.
