Print Project
summer hoop wreath with monstera leaves
Step 1 |
Paint the hoops with white satin paint and set aside to dry. TIP: Use a hair dryer to speed up the dry time of the paint. |
Step 2 |
Plan your arrangement on the larger hoop. Cut apart the leaves of the monstera stem and the fern stem with a wire cutter. Position two of the monstera leaves on the hoop, leaving an area for the focal point you will establish with the succulents. Position fern leaves around the monstera leaves. Once you like the layout, use hot glue to hold the leaves to the hoop. |
Step 3 |
Cut the stems off the succulents, but leave a 1" nub for gluing. Cluster the succulents together to make a focal point between the monstera leaves. Hot glue the succulents to the hoop. TIP: Because the succulents are a bit heavier, you may need to hold them in place until the hot glue cools and hardens. |
Step 4 |
Cut a piece of ribbon that is about 24" long. |
Step 5 |
Lay the smaller hoop inside the larger hoop. Fold the ribbon in half and position it under the two hoops. Take the two tails and pull them through the hoop, creating a lark’s head knot. This will keep the hoops together. Next, tie a double knot on the top section of the ribbon, making a loop for the hanger. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
