Step 1

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:

  • Finished Circumference About 35" (89 cm)
  • Finished Height About 10" (25.5 cm)

GAUGE: 15 sts = about 10 in. (25.5 cm) in Garter st (knit every st on every row); exact gauge is not essential to this project.

NOTES:

  • The Cowl is knit in one piece, back and forth in rows on a circular needle, then the ends are sewn together to make a ring.
  • If you’d like to keep the yarn contained as you work, slip the ball into a zippered plastic bag. Zip the bag closed, leaving an opening for the strand of yarn.


COWL:

Cast on 15 sts.

Work in Garter st (knit every st on every row) until you have just about 24 in. (61 cm) of yarn remaining.

Bind off all sts but don’t cut the yarn tail.


FINISHING:

Thread ending yarn tail into the blunt needle, then sew the short ends of the Cowl together to make a ring.

Weave in yarn ends.
