Rit® All Purpose Powder Dye is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very simple I used black dye and blue dye on 100% silk. Followed instructions exactly. Used stove top method both times. With black I doubled the amount of dye and left it in the dye bath for 60 minutes. With blue, I doubled the amount and left it in for 30 minutes. The black came out very black and the blue came out almost navy. This dye will not work on thread. Dye your fabric before sewing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright, even color The powder is great! You just dissolve it in 2 cups very hot water before putting it in your dye bath. I like avoiding the plastic bottles of the liquid dye. Super bright color when you follow the directions. A lot easier than I thought it would be!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the color or look I tried to make a red spiral and it was perfect and I followed the steps perfectly, but once it came out of the wash the spiral was unrecognizable and the entire shirt was just an ugly pink, waste of time and money, especially when on a strict budget for a sports team

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Awful Product It did not matter what I soaked in it. I even used advice on the box to enhance color, viniger, 2 boxes. Left over night to make sure it sat. When I drained the water out it was a pale Brown and watery I didn't even add a lot of water. Get the Rit in the BIG BOTTLE with black. Red worked fine in a box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for what I needed This product was great. The color came out truer to the sample strip at the store rather than the color on the box. That was what I was hoping for. Was a great inexpensive way to get exactly what I wanted!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as good as the liquid dye I dyed a light denim vest, I wanted it to be a very dark blue, but it wasn’t. Lol I still like the vest though. I would recommend the liquid Rit not the powder.
