The weight of the mat is good
I too have had some problems with a less than exact 5x7 opening.
Secondly, I wish Michael's offered mores colors.

The opening is 4 1/2" x 6 1/2". Ordered the mat for an artwork which i made for exact 5x7, the smaller size didnt work for me. The quality is the mat is pretty good

Mat by studio decor.
Love this mat board. I bought 4 but unfortunately one had a ring dent at the bottom. Therefore gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I wish Michaels would stock more colors in 8'×10'.

too small
Opening size is too small by almost 3/4" to one full inch, which made a big difference to my project. Now have to try and make my own as not going to pay for a custom mat.

Great frame with Mat
My mom now passed wrote a poem that I wanted to frame and mat for my son. Found the perfect frame at Michael's, it came with a mat and bonus, it was 50% off. He is going to love it.

Opening size misleading
I got the 4 mats home to discover the openings were not actually 5" X 7" but quite a bit smaller. It would have been accurate to say they would mat a 5" X 7" photo with 1/4" loss of image on all sizes. I would have appreciated the actual opening size since I was not matting a photo but artwork.
