You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.
Step 1 |
To create the pinecone flowers, remove layer after layer of the top pinecone needles, using flat nose pliers and wire cutters. Remove about half of the top section of the pinecone. Do this to three pinecones. |
Step 2 |
Once the needles have been removed on three of the pinecones, paint each one a different color. Set aside to dry. Apply multiple coats if needed. |
Step 3 |
Place the flower pinecones as desired on the grapevine wreath and determine how many pinecones you need to fill in the rest of the wreath. NOTE: The featured wreath required ten additional pinecones. |
Step 4 |
Use pliers to remove needles from the bottom of each pinecone so that they are not as tall when placed on the wreath. |
Step 5 |
Paint the ends of the pinecone needles in varying colors and let dry. |
Step 6 |
Use hot glue to attach the pinecone flowers, as well as the regular pinecones, around the wreath. Let dry. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
