Intermediate
You're somewhat experienced with the skills necessary to complete this project, but you haven't mastered all the elements, yet.
Step 1 |
Click here to download the template. Print it out and cut out the individual pieces (ears, nose, eye patches). |
Step 2 |
Unpackage and turn over the white craft fur. Lay out the mask on the wrong side of the fur, and loosely trace its outline. |
Step 3 |
ADULT: Use the hot glue gun to attach the white fur to the front of the mask. Make sure all edges line up as you work. Once the fur is glued to the mask, trim the edges, if necessary. |
Step 4 |
Trace the ear and eye patch pattern pieces onto the wrong side of the black craft fur. Cut out all four pieces. Trace the nose pattern piece onto black stiffened felt and cut it out. |
Step 5 |
ADULT: Hot glue the ears to the underside of the mask, above the eyeholes. Use the image as a guide. Hot glue the eye patches onto the white fur, making sure the patches’ eye holes match up with the mask’s eye holes. Finally, hot glue the nose into place, using the image as a guide. If necessary, smooth the mask’s fur and trim any errant hairs. |
Step 6 |
ADULT: Measure the back of your panda’s head, from ear to ear, with the elastic. Subtract approximately 2” from that measurement, and cut a piece of black elastic in that length. |
Step 7 |
ADULT: Hot glue each end of the elastic to the inside corner of the mask. Let dry for a couple of minutes. |
Step 8 |
