Step 2 |
Cut shapes from paper. |
Step 3 |
Fold along the scoring lines, back and forth, like an accordion. |
Step 4 |
For the Dill (green) frond shape, hot glue the semi-circle shapes to the middle shape. Now, add a small dab of hot glue between the folds along the bottom of the middle section, on the back, and pinch them together so your frond shape forms. Let glue set then set aside. |
Step 5 |
For the larger ivory fan palm, hot glue together along one of the longer sides to make a wider accordion-folded rectangle. Find the middle and fold in half. Hot glue the two folds together, as shown, and let glue set. Fan out your shape. |
Step 6 |
For the smaller ivory fan palms, find the middle and fold in half. Hot glue the two folds together, as shown, and let glue set. Fan out your shape. |
Step 7 |
For the large kraft palm, glue the two accordion-folded rectangles together along one long side. Next, add a dab of hot glue along the tabs, across the bottom, of one half and pinch together; then repeat with the second half. Finally, add a dab of glue between the two-tab sections and glue together and shape out your palm. |
Step 8 |
Plan how you want to hang your palm shapes from your natural stick. |
Step 9 |
Cut six lengths of yarn and tie one end of the yarn to each palm shape. |
Step 10 |
Add a bead (or a couple) to the yarn attached to a few of the paper palms. |
Step 11 |
Tie the other end to the natural stick. Trim ends as needed. |
Step 12 |
Add a hanger. Cut a long piece of yarn and tie to each end of the natural stick. |
