paracord friendship bracelet
| Step 1 |
Measure and cut two 72" lengths and one 24" length of embroidery floss. TIP: Choose one, two or three different colors! |
| Step 2 |
Fold the 24" floss in half and tie an overhand knot about ½" from the fold. |
| Step 3 |
Tape the floss to your working space, above the knot. |
| Step 4 |
Fold the two 72" floss pieces in half, separately. Now, thread an end of one 72" piece through the fold of the other and pull it until the folds link together. TIP: When laying in front of you on your working surface, both ends of one floss piece are pointing one way the both ends of the other are point in the opposite direction with the folds linked in the center. |
| Step 5 |
Tie the linked floss over the knot on the taped floss so the floss is even on each side. TIP: The floss on the left side will be (A) and the floss on the right side will be (B). Work both strands on each side as if they were one. |
| Step 6 |
Straighten floss A down about 2" from the top and hold it in place. Move the rest of floss A across the front of the center floss, horizontally, making the shape of the number 4. |
| Step 7 |
Now, take the ends of the B floss and move it over floss A then under the center floss and up through the opening of the “4” shape. |
| Step 8 |
Grasp the ends of both sides and tighten the knot over the center floss. The knot will work up to the top. TIP: The A floss is now on the right and B floss is now on the left. |
| Step 9 |
For the next paracord knot, repeat Steps 6-8 but in the opposite direction. |
| Step 10 |
Continue to Repeat Steps 6-9 until you reach the desired length of your bracelet. |
| Step 11 |
Align the ends of floss A and B so they are parallel to the center floss and tie an overhand knot in the center floss, around the excess of floss A and B, just below your last paracord knot. Use a toothpick to add a dab of glue against the bottom of the knot and let dry. |
| Step 12 |
Trim the ends of floss A and B at the bottom of the knot where you added glue in Step 11. |
| Step 13 |
Make another double overhand knot about ½" from the previous knot. To close, push the last double knot through the loop at the other end of your bracelet. |
