Beginner
You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.
Step 1 |
Follow package directions on the pom pom maker to create two medium and two small pom poms with yarn. |
Step 2 |
Use scissors to trim down the pom poms so that they are even all around, and more compact. |
Step 3 |
Take two Gold eyepins and slide on blue beads, leaving ¼" of the eyepin showing at the top. |
Step 4 |
Use the jewelry pliers from the toolbox to bend the piece of the eyepin remaining at a 90° angle. Then curl the pin back in the other direction into a small loop, replicating the other end. |
Step 5 |
Cut four pieces of floss 6" long. |
Step 6 |
Thread a strand of floss through the needle. |
Step 7 |
Slide the needle up through the medium pom pom, through the eye pin, back down through the center of the pom pom, and down through the bottom center of the pom pom. Remove the needle and tie a tight knot with the beginning and end of the floss strand. Cut excess floss. |
Step 8 |
Repeat this Step 7 on the smaller pom pom on the other end of the same eyepin. Repeat Steps 6-7 to create the second earring. |
Step 9 |
On the back side of the small pom pom of each earring, cut the pom pom so that there is a flat surface to attach the earring back onto. |
Step 10 |
Use E-6000® to attach the earring back to the flat part of the pom pom on both earrings. Follow package directions and let dry. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
