I LOVE the Cricut Venture. It is fast and efficient. It’s very easy to use and is an extremely versatile piece of equipment. Working with larger projects does require a little getting use to but that isn’t the machine’s fault.

I really wanted to love this but I would be lying if I said I’d recommend this to any crafter. I was dancing when it arrived but one day of cutting and I’m exhausted. 
If you craft with a lot of paper, cardstock, vinyl and light materials, then MAYBE. 
Soon as I loaded kraft cardstock (Cricut brand, at that), it required the deep cut blade. That was unusual because the Maker series spoiled me. You use the regular blade.
I’m so disappointed. Even for the sale price, I feel like I spent too much. That’s saying a LOT because every Venture item I bought, I purchased on sale (including the stand).

PROS: Fastest cutting Cricut machine. 
Great for batch vinyl cutting 
Largest print then cut capacity (of all Cricut machines)
Ideal for Smart Materials 
Ease of use; beginner friendly 

CONS: Does NOT cut thicker materials well. Pressure needs to be adjusted and because it cuts faster, it may damage materials 
Mats aren’t sticky enough for heavier materials
Requires more time and effort to work with thicker materials
This machine is more like the Explore series as opposed to a “new” machine. 
Can adjust the pressure, but not the speed

I didn’t read the reviews before I purchased, but I wish I had. I would’ve bought it for my vinyl and light paper crafting anyway. 
I just would’ve been more realistic with my expectations.

I don't know, I think this cutter is weird.  I don't like that I'm locked into smart materials. Yes, I can use the extra $30 mat to cut smaller sizes... but for $1,000 I shouldn't have to shell out for a mat. I'm tired of being nickle and dimed to death. Weird accessories with this thing too. The toothbrush didn't make sense at first, or the clunky groove cleaning tool. But being on an angle, I can see junk and detritus getting into places you don't want it. Would be great to have a touchscreen so I wasn't locked in to using Design Space exclusively. I know there are better cutters for much less money that don't lock you in with weird sizes (try finding 25" material anywhere besides Cricut). I wanted to love a larger cutter but for me, I don't think this is the one. Sorry, Cricut.

I was hoping that I would get everything I needed in one machine. I have an Explore air 2 and a Maker. I wanted to have one machine that did it all. The Venture is really nothing but an oversized, overpriced turbo charged explore air. If you have a Maker or Maker 3 keep it, because the venture does not do the some of things or cut some of the materials the Maker does. The only positive is for my customers that wear extended sizes now I can make their designs proportionate to their garment size and do not have to make two different cuts. Maybe one day Cricut will get it.
