The paper provided is not absorbent enough for the paint medium. The paints are transparent and runny and do not stick well onto the sponge and loofa brushes, or even the roller. Results: smearing! I would suggest a thicker paint and more absorbent paper. Very frustrating for a child to manage.

My son really liked the sponge in particular, probably because it gave the best coverage. Obviously I recommend mentally preparing yourself for a mess and the clean up, but it really is a great way for kids to express themselves and work on their fine motor skills.

This was hours worth of fun. I pulled it out in the middle of our move and my girls thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not only will they paint and learn about colors they will learn about different textures and patterns. They can even learn about counting numbers with this set and the best part is that the paint is washable which makes cleaning up very easy. I think this is great to have specially when the little ones are out of school.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this kit is fantastic for a specific age group. My 8-year-old enjoyed using the various tools to create dimension and variances in her art. She is deliberate and has the fine motor skills needed to be able to use the tools appropriately. My 2-year-old on the other hand created a big mess and gave up on the tools rather quickly. To add, another reason I’d say this kit is for the older, young artist, is because while the paints wash off of skin, it’s not so easy to get it off of fabric, so needless to say, the 2-year-old REALLY made a mess. But again, my 8-year-old loved it so it’s really about getting it for that right age group!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My five and a half year old loves art and the different brush styles really brought out her creativity.  The loofa texture tool was difficult for her to use because she didn't put enough paint on it.  I felt that the roller that looked like a gear did not roll well at all so it mostly was just dragged on the paper and she couldn't get the texture to come out.  As for the paints knowing how messy my kid is while creating, I would have also preferred them to be completely washable and not have the ability to stain hands, clothing or surfaces.  With all of that, I think she loved the feather brush and the other texture tools.

It was very nice to have all the extra brushes and the different devices to add texture to her pictures. It came with five bottles of paint and they were pretty good size and it also came with some plain paper for the child to create their art on. It was a good little activity in a great little pack.
