BEGINNER SPINNING KIT includes everything you need to start learning how to spin your own yarn - a solid wood drop spindle, 1oz of hand-dyed BFL drafted roving and a set of instructions complete with a link to a video demonstration. PRE-DRAFTED ROVING is combed top roving that has been drafted to thumb thickness resulting in an even, soft fiber strand; thicker than bulky yarn but thinner than standard wool roving. In other words, the work of drafting has already been done for you. This allows a beginning spinner to concentrate on the hand movements of spinning, get into a spinning rhythm and experience quick success with a new craft. If you have never used a drop spindle before, this is the perfect starter kit for you.

HAND DYED TO PERFECTION: careful kettle dyeing in small batches allows us to create tonally complex, vivid coloring with nuances that can only be achieved by hand dyeing. We are proud to offer these variegated colors to discerning crafters who appreciate the unique qualities of hand dyed fiber. Please note that each batch of hand dyed fiber varies a bit and that colors can appear slightly different on every device.

KIT INCLUDES: One solid wood top whorl drop spindle, one skein of BFL drafted roving (approximately 4 oz (113 g) and instructions complete with a link to a video demonstration.
