Overall a good buy. Few issues: the ink bottle had leaked a little and sealed itself. And the nib holder’s decorative enamel handle cracked after only a few days of gentle use. It’s still works for its purpose though.

The ink is more like paint, so I tried using fountain pen water-based ink which worked a bit better for what I wanted. This set lets you do stuff you can’t exactly do with an average fountain pen, but that does come with a bit of a learning curve. It is an entry-level set, but it still lets me do stuff I can’t with my flat-nib calligraphy pens. Also, as with any calligraphy, be sure to use decent paper to get good results. Printer paper is pretty good for practicing, but notebook paper will bleed and possibly tear.
