I love the feel and quality of the paper. Just be cautious about putting too much water on when using watercolor. I made that mistake, but it has nothing to do with the sketchbook.

This art book checks all the boxes. 1. It doesn’t have rings so you don’t have to worry about it getting bent/damaged. 2. At the same time, the binding is super adhesive so the pages don’t fall out (like some watercolor/thick paper books). 3. The paper is smooth yet thick so I am able to use paints with no problem, but can also use pencils with it still looking smooth. 
Overall, I have tried watercolors, gouache paint, acrylic, colored pencils, markers, and charcoal pencils on this paper, and it all came out fantastic with no bleeding through!

The mixed media journal has very nice paper! As someone who uses a wide variety and quality, this is pretty nice. I use it for my watercolor class and the paint doesn't bleed through.
