MEASUREMENT: Approx. 41" [104 cm] square

GAUGE: 8 sts and 13 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st

Step 2:

Cast on 79 sts. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:

Knit 9 rows (garter st) noting 1st row is RS.

Next row: (WS). K2. *(K4. M1) twice. K1. Rep from * to last 5 sts. K5. 95 sts.

Proceed in pat as follows:

1st row: (RS). K5. *P1. K6. P1. K3. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.

2nd and alt rows: K2. *K4. P6. K1. Rep from * to last 5 sts. K5.

3rd row: As 1st row.

5th row: K5. *P1. C6B. P1. K3. Rep from * to last 2 sts. K2.

7th row: As 1st row.

8th row: As 2nd row.

Rep these 8 rows for pat until work from beg measures approx 38½" [98 cm], ending on a 1st

row.

Next row: (WS). K2. *K4. K2tog. K2. K2tog. K1. Rep from * to last 5 sts. K5. 79 sts.

Knit 9 rows (garter st).

Cast off.

Step 3:
