Project Notes:

- Of course, you’ll choose your flowers based on your wedding theme and colors, so they might be a little different from ours. That’s ok! To make your centerpiece look like ours, be sure to select some floral elements that can stand tall and others that will drape naturally down the side of a tall vase.

- Real Touch™ flowers (such as peonies) look so real that they’ll draw your guests’ attention immediately. For this reason, they’re a great choice when building the cluster of flowers that will become the focal point of your centerpiece.

To build your centerpiece, begin with a focal cluster that includes large roses and peonies. Tightly gather several of these large blooms together to form a central grouping. As you do this, vary their heights to create dimension and interest.

TIP: This is a tall arrangement, so not every stem will need to be trimmed as you build it. Just shorten individual stems, as needed to maintain the height and shape of the centerpiece without having to add floral foam.

Now, fill in around your focal cluster with more roses, peonies and hops in complementary colors.

Add white and cream-colored flowers, such as wisteria and hops, all around the base of the arrangement. They’ll give a base of support to the shape you’ve created and help it to stand tall. Plus, their draping blossoms will give a lovely, romantic softness to the bottom of the arrangement.

Finally, take some time to pull apart and arrange the individual floral elements, in order to spread them out and give your centerpiece an asymmetrical, natural look. Add more of each kind of flower (hops, eucalyptus, peonies, roses and Queen Anne’s Lace) to fill in any gaps and balance the overall composition.

TIP: Once you think you’re finished, take a photo of the arrangement with your phone. Look at the photo to decide whether or not you need to make any adjustments. Tweak your flowers a bit more if you need to.
