FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: About 45" x 60" (114.5 x 152.5 cm) not including fringe.

GAUGE: 2 V-sts + 3½ rows = 5" (12.5 cm) in pattern. Please be sure to check your gauge.

NOTES:

1. Shawl is worked in one piece with a large hook.
2. Shawl is reversible.

SHAWL:

Ch 61.

Row 1: Dc in 5th ch from hook (4 skipped ch count as base ch and dc), ch 1, dc in same ch (V-st made), *sk 2 ch, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch (V-st made); repeat from * to last 2 ch, sk 1 ch, dc in last ch – 19 V-sts and 1 dc on each end.

Rows 2–40: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, (dc, ch 1, dc) in each ch-1 sp across, dc in top of turning ch.

Fasten off.

FINISHING:

Edging

Join yarn with a sl st in any corner of shawl.

Ch 1, work single crochet evenly spaced along one long side of shawl.

Fasten off.

Rep edging along opposite long side.

Weave in ends.

Fringe

For each fringe cut 3 strands of yarn approximately 22" (56 cm) long. Hold the strands together and fold in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of shawl, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten. Make fringe evenly spaced along both ends of shawl.

Trim fringe evenly.
