INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ). When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes.

Front: **Ribbing: Ch 10.

1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 9 sc.

2nd row: Ch 1. Working in back loops only, 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.**

Rep 2nd row for 18 (19-21)" [45.5 (48-53.5) cm], ending on a WS row. Do not fasten off.

Turn work sideways and proceed as follows:

1st row: (RS). Ch 1. Work 46 (50-54) sc evenly across side of ribbing. Turn.

2nd row: Ch 1. *1 sc in next sc. 1 dc in next sc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.

3rd row: Ch 1. *1 sc in next dc. 1 dc in next sc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.

Rep last row for pat until total length measures 14 (17-19)" [35.5 (43-48) cm], ending on

a WS row.***

Shape neck: 1st row: (RS). Pat 18 (19-21) sts. Hdc2tog. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.

2nd row: Ch 2 (does not count as st). Hdc2tog. Pat to end of row. Turn.

3rd row: Pat to last 2 sts. Hdc2tog. Turn.

****4th row: As 2nd row. 16 (17-19) sts rem.

Cont even in pat until total length measures 16 (19-21)" [40.5 (48-53.5) cm], ending on a WS row. Fasten off.****

1st row: (RS). Skip next 6 (8-8) sts. Join yarn with sl st to next st. Ch 2 (does not

count as st). Hdc2tog. Pat to end of row. Turn.

2nd row: Pat to last 2 sts. Hdc2tog. Turn.

3rd row: Ch 2 (does not count as st). Hdc2tog. Pat to end of row. Turn.

Rep from **** to **** as above.

Back: Rep from ** to *** as given for Front.

Cont in pat until total length measures same as Front to shoulder. Fasten off.

Collar: Sew right shoulder seam.

Ch 30. Work from ** to ** as given for Front Ribbing. 29 sc.

Rep 2nd row until Collar fits around neck edge, stretching to fit and ending on a WS row; sewing in position loosely as you work. Fasten off.

Side ribbing: Sew left shoulder seam and Collar seam.

Ch 8. Work from ** to ** as given for Front Ribbing. 7 sc.

Rep 2nd row until Ribbing measures up side of Poncho, ending on a WS row and sewing in position as you work. Fasten off. Rep for opposite side. Sew 2 buttons on each side through all thicknesses. Buttons are decorative only.
