Cut 60" [152.4 cm] of macramé cord.
TIP: Wrap a piece of tape around each end to keep from fraying.

Attach the cord to a wood cabone ring with a lark’s head knot.
TIP: To make a lark’s head knot, fold the cord in half. Place the bottom part of your wood ring over the fold. Grab the ends of the cord, bring them up and over the wood ring, then through the fold of the cord. Pull and tighten the knot. Turn the ring over so the front of the knot is facing up on your working surface.

Move the right cord out of the way for now and bring the end of your left cord up to your ring. Thread it through the ring from the front and bring it back down through the loop of your cord that is below the ring and pull tight.

Now, bring that same cord back up to the ring, thread it through the ring from the back and bring it back down through the loop of your cord that is below the ring and pull tight.
TIP: You now have a second lark’s head knot.

Repeat Steps 3-4 about four more times for a total of six lark’s head knots around half of your wood ring.

Thread a small wood bead onto the cord. Fold the cord that is above the bead so you have a loop large enough to hang from a branch on your Christmas tree, then tie an overhand knot above the wood bead.
TIP: Use the image as a guide.

Thread the excess yarn back through the wood bead and trim as close to the bottom of the bead as possible.

At the bottom, thread a large wood bead and a small wood bead onto the right cord you moved aside in Step 3. Move the beads up so they are flush below with the first lark’s head knot.

Fold the cord and thread back up through the wood beads. Trim the cord at the top of the large bead as close as possible. Add a dab of glue inside the bead. Make sure the glue reaches the cords inside to hold in place. Let dry.

Trim the loop open at the bottom of your ornament. Unravel the cords and comb until smooth.
TIP: Spritz the cords with water for easier combing. A metal comb, like the one found here, is the perfect tool to use when combing cotton cord.

Trim ends evenly across the bottom.
