FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Width = 8½" and Length = 96".

GAUGE: 10 dc x 4 rows = 4" in dc through back loop only; save time and check your gauge.

INSTRUCTIONS:

With A, ch 26.

Row 1: Sk 2 ch, dc2tog over next 2 ch, dc in next 9 ch, 2 dc in each of next 2 ch, dc in next 9 ch, dc2tog over last 2 ch, turn.

Row 2: Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), working in back loop only across, dc2tog over next 2 dc, dc in next 9 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, dc in next 9 dc, dc2tog over last 2 dc, turn.

*Drop A and pick up B. With B, repeat Row 2 twice. Drop B and pick up A. With A, repeat Row 2 twice.

Repeat from * until scarf measures approximately 96", ending with 2 rows of B. Fasten off.

Step 2:

Tassels

Make 3 with A and 3 with B.

Wrap yarn around 5" cardboard strip 20 times.

Tie a 6" length of yarn around all the wraps at one edge of cardboard.

Cut wraps at opposite edge of cardboard.

Wrap 18" length of B tightly around tassel several times about ½" below tie.

Fasten off and hide ends.

Finishing: Sew 3 tassels made with B onto the beginning ch edge, 1 at each edge and 1 in the center. Sew 3 tassels made with A onto the opposite end, 1 at each edge and 1 in the center.

Weave in ends.
