rainbow clay slime

Here’s a fun way to make super-soft, moldable slime! Add a little Crayola® Model Magic® and shape this colorful clay slime to make your very own rainbow and clouds, just like ours! Read on and we’ll walk you through it!
Step 1
Project Notes:
   -  All types of Elmer’s® glue work with this recipe.
   -  Elmer’s® has a ton of great slime recipes! To find one, click here.

First, make a batch of white slime, using one 4 fl. oz. bottle of white glue. Do not add any color to the slime. When you’re done, set it aside.
Step 2
Next, make a batch of clear slime, using one 9 fl. oz. bottle of clear glue. Do not any color to this slime either.
Step 3
Divide your batch of clear slime into four portions. Take the first portion and flatten it out on a piece of wax (or palette) paper.
Step 4
Open up the small package of green Model Magic® and place it on top of the slime. Fold the slime’s edges in toward the center to blend the Model Magic® into the slime. Continue folding and stretching until the two are blended completely. The Model Magic® will color the slime and make it firmer, so that it’s easier to form into shapes.
Step 5
Repeat to blend the other Model Magic® colors (red, yellow and blue) into the remaining three portions of clear slime. If you like, once you’ve made all four colored slimes, you can take a bit of one color and blend it with another to make a new clay slime color (for example, combining red and yellow to make orange, and blue plus red to make purple).

TIP: Blend about the same amount of Model Magic® into each section of slime. Since the red and blue packages of Model Magic® are larger than the others, tear off a smaller portion (about the size of the yellow and green pieces) to blend in with the slime.
Step 6
Time for white slime! Repeat Step 4 to blend the white Model Magic® into your white slime.
Step 7
Lay out a clean piece of wax (or palette) paper onto your working surface. Roll your clay slimes into ropes and stack them in a curved shape (like a rainbow) on your non-stick paper.
Step 8
Separate your white clay slime into several small pieces in different sizes. Roll each piece into a ball, then place the balls on the paper, grouping them around the ends of your rainbow.
Step 9
Take another sheet of wax (or palette) paper and place it on top of your clay slime. Make sure it’s big enough to cover all the slime! Now use your hands (or a book) to press down, gently and evenly, on all the slimes at once. Remove your hand (or book) and peel away the top layer of paper to reveal your rainbow with clouds!
Step 10
When you’re done playing, be sure to store your slime in an airtight, sealable container (or re-sealable plastic bag).
