red satin ribbon banister garland

Step 1
To create red satin ribbon banister garland bow, start with tail about 9" long.

NOTE: Create the bow while ribbon is still attached to the spool. Do not cut ribbon from the spool until the last step.
Step 2
Make a loop with about 8" of ribbon. Pinch and twist after the first loop and make another loop the same size on the other side of the pinched area. This will be the center of the bow.
Step 3
Continue making the loops until you have a total of four loops, or until the bow reaches the desired size.
Step 4
Secure the center with a chenille stem and shape loops.
Step 5
Cut the ribbon from the spool, leaving another 9" tail.

NOTE: Cut ends of tail at an angle to avoid fraying.
Step 6
Repeat previous steps for as many bows as desired for garland.
Step 7
Add bows to the garland using the chenille stem from the center of the bow. Tuck chenille stem ends into the garland.
