red, white, and blue floral arrangement
Simple and sweet, this red, white and blue floral arrangement is the perfect piece of décor for your summer celebrations! We’ll show you how easy it is to DIY your very own painted Mason jar with chalky paint, then fill it with a lovely bush of mixed flowers. Let’s make it!
Step 1 |
First, unscrew the lid from your Mason jar; then, wash and dry your Mason jar to remove any dust or smudges that might keep the paint from sticking to the glass. TIP: You can either discard thelid, or keep it for a future project. Either way, it isn’t needed for this project! |
Step 2 |
Next, use your foam brush to paint the outside of the Mason jar with white chalky paint. Set it aside to let the paint dry. |
Step 3 |
Use a floral cutter to snip the individual stems from your geranium bush. Combine themintoa little cluster, so that the white blooms are the focal point. |
Step 4 |
Finally, insert the stems into your Mason jar. Adjust your arrangement until you’re pleased with how it looks. TIP: Remember that these pretty flowers have bendable stems, so you can gently curve them a bit to help them look more natural. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
