refinished mirror

Refinish an old mirror for a gorgeous antiqued decor piece that is as good as new.
Step 1
Wipe off re-cycled mirror frame with a damp soft cloth prior to painting.
Step 2
If possible, tuck pallet paper (or wax paper) between the mirror and the wood frame. If this is not possible, tape off mirror to prevent getting paint on mirror.
Step 3
Stir paint well prior to painting. Apply paint to mirror's wood surface with a paintbrush. Some recycled furniture will need a second coat. Let dry.
Step 4
Once dry, apply brown creme wax with a soft lint-free cloth. Work wax into the recesses of your piece to create an authentic antiqued look. If lighter shaded areas are desired, wipe excess with a damp cloth. If darker areas are desired, add additional wax. Let dry.
Step 5
Once dry use a clean soft cloth to buff mirror to desired shine.
