You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.
refinished mirror
Refinish an old mirror for a gorgeous antiqued decor piece that is as good as new.
Step 1 |
Wipe off re-cycled mirror frame with a damp soft cloth prior to painting. |
Step 2 |
If possible, tuck pallet paper (or wax paper) between the mirror and the wood frame. If this is not possible, tape off mirror to prevent getting paint on mirror. |
Step 3 |
Stir paint well prior to painting. Apply paint to mirror's wood surface with a paintbrush. Some recycled furniture will need a second coat. Let dry. |
Step 4 |
Once dry, apply brown creme wax with a soft lint-free cloth. Work wax into the recesses of your piece to create an authentic antiqued look. If lighter shaded areas are desired, wipe excess with a damp cloth. If darker areas are desired, add additional wax. Let dry. |
Step 5 |
Once dry use a clean soft cloth to buff mirror to desired shine. |
