rope-wrapped plant container

Take a plain-Jane plastic pot from drab to designer just by adding a little rope. It’s so simple you’ll want to do a whole garden room full!
Step 1

Apply adhesive tape around the entire surface of the planter, from just below the lip to the bottom edge.

TIP: Work in horizontal rounds and remove the red backing as you work each round.

Step 2

Determine which side of your tree will be the back. Starting at the bottom edge on the back, remove the red backing from the first round of tape and attach the end of the rope. Wrap the rope all the way around bottom edge of the planter.

TIP: Press the rope firmly into the tape so it has a secure hold.

Step 3

Continue wrapping the rope in tight rounds from the bottom edge up to just below the lip of the planter.

TIP: Make sure all of the rope ends meet and start again on the back side of the planter so the front and sides are seamless.
