rosemary and lemon holiday place card cookies

Step 1
Quantities Needed:
4 Cups Confectioners' Sugar
1 Cup Butter, Softened
1½ Tsp. Lemon Zest
½ Tsp. Minced Fresh Rosemary
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
½ Tsp. Salt
2 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
1 Tsp Corn Syrup

Prepare cookies following recipe instructions.
Step 2
Roll out dough to ¼" thick, then use the smooth side of the cutter labeled ‘A’ to make circles. Bake and cool. 
Step 3
Prepare Royal icing according to recipe directions. Tint one cup of icing brown, ¼ cup black and set aside. 
Step 4
With 9" angled spatula, smooth ice cookies with white Royal icing. 
Step 5
Prepare decorating bag with tip 2 and brown icing. Pipe irregular rings around the outer edge of each cookie, overlapping and twisting as you go, to look like a wreath of branches. Then pipe 4-5 bands across. 
Step 6
Switch to tip 1 and pipe a few squiggly lines at different points along the wreath. 
Step 7
Prepare decorating bag with black icing and tip 1, to write names of guests, adding extra width to the down strokes. 
Step 8
Garnish each cookie with a sprig of rosemary.
