seahorse sign

Ok, most of us can’t spend all our time at the beach. But, we can create a beachy oasis with this tasseled seahorse sign. Let us show you how easy it is to stencil paint onto its wood surface. Now, all you need to do is decide where to hang it!
Step 1
Lightly spray the back of the tassel stencil with stencil adhesive, then place it on the seahorse sign.

TIP: Use your finger to press down on the stencil, especially along the design’s edges. This is called burnishing. It’ll help you make sure the stencil is stuck fast to the wood, so that paint doesn’t seep underneath its edges.
Step 2
Dip the tip of your stencil brush into a puddle of paint, then brush off a little of the excess. Using quick up-and-down motions, dab the brush onto the open part of the stencil design, working from the edges inward. Keep going until the design’s completely covered with paint. Now you can carefully peel away the tassel stencil.
Step 3
Follow the previous steps to stick the rope stencil onto the seahorse sign (make sure it’s matched up with the tassel), then dab paint onto this design as you did before. When you’re done, remove the stencil and let the paint dry. Great job!
