Great for a bit of green display!
I wanted a collection of greenery that I could use to decorate my t.v. console for the month of March this year, as I will be hosting a St. Patrick's Day party. I update my console seasonally, but this time needed something a bit different from my traditional spring decor. I found my perfect pieces to adorn the area in this boxwood collection by Ashland. Already bought the wreath, but as no garland, candle rings, or arrangements coordinate to the wreath, I was forced to be creative with these "mats" to create my own, instead. I purchased 4 of these and 2 of the larher sized mats and made a beautiful field of faux boxwood along the spot I usually keep a garland; the look is very similar. As for the candle rings, I simply used those larger mats on the ends and placed my year-round mercury glass lanterns on top that usually sit in candle rings, and the look is unique yet beautiful. Best of all, these boxwood remind me of clovers, so it is absolutely a perfect vignette for my party to celebrate the holiday. I have a beautiful array of boxwood across my tabletop and I love it! Worked well in a pinch when improvising :)

Turned Into a Cute Potted Plant
I have been wanting one of those cute miniature artificial potted plants that I see in various home decorating stores but didn't want to pay the price. I bought this mat 50% off at Michaels, purchased a small terracotta pot and half styro-foam ball at another store for next to nothing (like a Dollar Tree or Dollar Store). Glued the half styro-foam in the pot w/hot glue, cut the stems from the mat and hot glued them to the half styro-foam ball. The mat was full enough to cover the ball with some left over! It turned out super-cute and spent less than $5... Love it!
