Spectrum Noir™ Illustrator Markers, Essentials is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Delightful Surprise After testing a couple different marker brands, Spectrum Noir has become one of my favorites. The colors blend surprisingly well together, their brushes are comfortable to use and flexible, the bullet nib is fantastic for reaching smaller areas, and I love the shape of the hexagonal barrel. Also, thank you for including a blender, that has been super useful for cleaning up my mistakes. But the biggest advantage of these markers is that they work very well with other brands of markers when it comes to blending, which is great given the limited color palette in this set. There were two small drawbacks. One, my magenta marker is a tiny bit leaky, which hasn't ruined any of my art, but it has stained the barrel and gotten on my hands more than once. Two, why is the orange marker named Lipstick? I was very confused when first opening this because all the other color names were playful and made sense, but who associates lipstick as being orange? Most people think of red first. It's not that big a deal, kind of tickled my funny bone, but I'd love to know the answer. Overall, these markers are worth giving a try, though I'd advise waiting until you're absolutely sure about how much you want to invest into your marker collection.
