Best paper for use with charcoal
I am the messiest person when I'm doing artwork and usually have the medium all over me. I found this paper, made especially for use with charcoal to, to help me keep the charcoal on the paper. It seems to grab on to the particles and keep them there. Also, be sure and use a kneaded eraser and, with this paper, no smearing. Makes for a much cleaner picture, even if you're just practicing. Enjoy!

Right paper for Charcoal Drawing.
Charcoal paper works much better tanning Drawing or scetching paper. Very happy with results.

It has the right texture for pastels.
This product contains the right texture to lay several layers of pastels to create realistic paintings using other mediums(alcohol,water,primers or cloth).

A Paper That Holds/Grips Pastels Awesomely Well.
I was a bit skeptical about it holding and gripping a soft pastel at first. But however it did not disappoint. All my works come out beautifully. It holds soft pastels like a champ.

I use charcoal quite a bit and found this paper to be pretty good the only thing that keeps me from giving five stars is that it's very rough to use the charcoal otherwise it's great for the price

Strathmore 300 charcoal paper
I buy this paper because I love the laid surface for drawing with charcoal and conte crayon. I wish the paper was heavier: it's 64 lb. Paper and I'm not really happy with papers lighter than 100 lbs. Or so, but buying it at 2/3 off is an excellent incentive!
