You're new to the skills necessary to complete this project, or maybe you've tried them just once or twice before.
Step 1 |
Paint the craft ring and one of the cabone rings with Vintage Gold metallic paint. Let dry. |
Step 2 |
Click here to download and print the template. Cut out the shapes. |
Step 3 |
Trace both moons onto Gold mirrorboard and cut out shapes. Attach the shapes back-to-back with the adhesive tape runner. |
Step 4 |
Trace six small stars, four medium stars and four large stars onto the back of the Gold glitter paper and cut out. Attach two of the same size stars back-to-back with the adhesive tape runner. |
Step 5 |
Punch a hole at the top of each shape. |
Step 6 |
Hang the shapes with monofilament, at different levels, from the holes in the craft ring. |
Step 7 |
Cut four 24" pieces of tulle. Tie one end of each tulle piece to, and evenly around, the craft ring. |
Step 8 |
Pull the other end of each tulle piece above and to the center of the craft ring. Tie the tulle to the painted cabone ring, so it hangs level. Set aside. |
Step 9 |
Cut a piece of cardboard to 10" x 5". |
Step 10 |
To make the tulle pom-poms, wrap tulle, straight from the spool, round the 10" length of the cardboard piece, 15 times. Carefully slide the tulle off without interrupting the loops. Wrap a chenille pipe cleaner around the outside of the loops, at the center, and twist tight. |
Step 11 |
Cut the loops open on both sides and fluff. |
Step 12 |
Repeat Steps 10-11 for eleven more (twelve total) pom-poms. |
Step 13 |
Push the chenille pipe cleaner ends of eight tulle pom-poms through the holes on the craft ring. Wrap the chenille pipe cleaner ends around the craft ring and tuck under the tulle so they are hidden. |
Step 14 |
Twist the chenille pipe cleaner ends of two of the remaining four tulle pom-poms together, but keep them straight. Repeat with the last two pom-poms. |
Step 15 |
Arrange the two pom-pom groups opposite to each other, with the twisted chenille pipe cleaners next to each other, and twist the pipe cleaners together. TIP: You should now have all four sets of chenille pipe cleaner ends twisted together between the tulle pom poms. |
Step 16 |
Stuff one end of the pom-pom up through the hole of the craft ring so that two tulle pom-poms are seen over the top of the ones around the ring, and let the bottom two hang below the craft ring. |
Step 17 |
Fluff all tulle pom-poms and hang. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
