Second time is a charm!
Love this wood pedestal! I'd wanted to make my own cake stand and finding a chunky, natural wood pedestal was difficult. This one is perfect, and with a coupon, an even better value. However, the first one I brought home was uneven, making for a tilted tray on top. When I brought it back to swap for a straight one, several others on the shelf were crooked too, so check before you buy to avoid disappointment!

Perfect in every way
Purchased pedestal to use as base for baby girl's head band holder. Very solid and stable base of substantial weight to avoid tipping over from top-heavy weight. I used a cardboard mailing cylinder covered with batting and fabric for top, although, I have heard of people using empty oatmeal containers for the same purpose. The wood was smooth and slightly porous but I was able to get great coverage with three coats of craft paint. I used a glossy varnish to achieve the 'finished' look I wanted.

Elegant pedastal
Great shape and sturdy base for a larger project I am working on. I glued another plaque on top of it and it worked out great!
