For serioous photographers, not an option
Although these frames are nicely made, they are not deep enough for serious photographic images. Most matted prints are done with two double weight mattes (one matte board in front, one as the backer) and these frames will not allow for this thickness of mattes. If a double matte is used in front (frame inside a frame) then these frames will never work. Perhaps Michael's will begin to see the need for something deeper. Deeper can accommodate then materials/art, but not the other way around.

Much better than expected
The frame is made of an engineered wood type product, possibly with a real wood veneer on
the face and gold paint accents. I was surprised how realistic the grain looked in person and how well the gold trim was applied. I'm always leery about ordering frames online ( the store only had one and I needed two ) but the frames that arrived were very well made with tight corner joints and nicely applied gold paint trim. One caveat, it needs picture wire added to
hang it, there is no toothed hanging cleat on the frame.
