watercolor place cards

These pretty watercolor place cards will add a wash of bright spring color to your romantic wedding! Let us show you how easy it is to make these beauties – just brush watercolors over printed paper, then sprinkle a few Gold dots on each one (just for good luck)!
Step 1
Design your place cards on your computer, then print each one out onto watercolor paper. Cut all the cards down to the size you’d like them to be.

TIP: Make sure that your design keeps your guests’ names and table numbers closer to the top edge of the cards.
Step 2
Cover your working surface with paper towels and then spread out your cards on top of the paper towels. Load your paintbrush with water and swab it over the bottom half of each card.

TIP: Do not brush water near the top section of your cards, since the text you printed will bleed and blur if it becomes wet.
Step 3
Use your wet paintbrush to pick up color from your watercolor pan and brush it across the wet area of a card. If you’d like, you can blend the color upward on the card to create an ombre effect. Use a variety of colors to paint your card and then let them dry.
Step 4
Add some shine! Use another paintbrush to splatter dots of liquid gilding onto the cards. It’s ok to apply them randomly – that just adds to their charm! Let your cards dry again.
